Bergamo, Italy – If there is one thing Bruno Bozzetto’s work has taught us over the years, it’s that imagination and creativity know no limits. But as of today, Bruno’s pencil and poetry have officially passed the boundaries of Earth’s atmosphere to reach deep space.

The International Astronomical Union (IAU) has officially approved and ratified the naming of an asteroid in honor of the Master. Floating in the heavens from this day forward is 132668 Brunobozzetto!

A Fusion of Science, Passion and Friendship

This extraordinary tribute was made possible thanks to a proposal by astrophysicist Sabrina Masiero and Dr. Fabrizio Bernardi. Discovered in 2002, this rocky celestial body travels in the main asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter at a staggering speed of over 68,000 kilometers per hour.

Welcoming the news with his signature irony and sense of wonder, Bruno himself described the designation as an unexpected and almost “surreal” honor—one of the most unbelievable wishes anyone could ever imagine coming true.
