Studio Bozzetto x Kartell x MuseoCity

Milan, Italy –  Studio Bozzetto and Archivio Bozzetto are collaborating with Kartell Museo for Milano MuseoCity 2025, presenting a special showcase at the Kartell Flagship Store in Milan:

“Bookworm and Bozzetto: The Line Around the Idea”

This project merges the worlds of illustration and design, demonstrating how a simple line can shape both storytelling and iconic objects.

At the heart of the installation are two legendary symbols of Italian creativity: Signor Rossi, the unforgettable character created by Bruno Bozzetto, and Bookworm, the revolutionary bookshelf designed by Ron Arad for Kartell.

With his unmistakable minimal stroke and signature irony, Bozzetto has created an exclusive illustration where Signor Rossi takes on the role of a snake charmer. Playing his flute, he enchants Bookworm, depicted as a sinuous serpent, gracefully moving to the rhythm of the melody.

This playful visual and narrative interplay celebrates the 30th anniversary of Bookworm, the first bookshelf designed to break free from straight lines. With its flexible, flowing shape, Bookworm reflects the experimental approach of both Ron Arad and Kartell—where creativity drives innovation. Just as Bookworm surprises with its fluid and unexpected aesthetics, so too does Bozzetto’s universe, where every element challenges conventions and sparks new perspectives.

As part of the project, Bruno Bozzetto is taking part in Kartell Incontra at the Kartell Flagship Store in Milan, a conversation exploring his creative journey and the intersection of illustration and design.
