Co-produced by Studio Bozzetto in collaboration with Rai Kids and the Canadian studio Sphere Animation, The Game Catchers is a high-value public service series. Through television, the cartoon encourages young viewers to rediscover traditional playground games and the joy of playing together in real life.
The first season of the series was awarded the Moige Prize and the Pulcinella Award, and was selected by the BBC to air on CBeebies, a channel known for hosting the best British and international series. The show has since expanded, reaching public and private broadcasters in Ireland, the Czech Republic, Finland, Spain, Portugal, Canada, and even Hong Kong and China.
The Game Catchers revives and celebrates traditional playground games like “Hide and Seek” or “Red Light, Green Light,” adapting them to a space-themed setting that stimulates the imagination. The five main characters, with the help of Mr. Moustache, travel through space exploring fantastic planets, with the goal of discovering and preserving the most fun games in the universe. Each episode is a new adventure, where creativity, cooperation, and the importance of preserving the history of games intertwine.
With its vibrant aesthetics and messages of inclusion and collaboration, The Game Catchers is an Italian production of great quality and editorial value, able to connect with children around the world.
