Bergamo Animation Days 2025

May 29, 2025

Bergamo, Italy – Bergamo Animation Days (BAD) returns for its fourth edition, transforming the city into a vibrant stage for the art and industry of animation from June 27 to 29, 2025. Organized by Keyframe APS in collaboration with the City of Bergamo and the University of Bergamo, as proud main partners, Studio Bozzetto is thrilled to contribute to this celebration of creativity.

This year marks a major transition in artistic leadership: Andrea Bozzetto, President of Keyframe and Director at Studio Bozzetto, takes the reins from Pietro Pinetti, founder and artistic director of the festival’s first three editions. Pinetti, now leading the Sharjah Animation Conference in the UAE, leaves behind a strong legacy: “BAD has been a fantastic adventure, and I’m excited to see it continue under Andrea’s direction.”

Under Andrea Bozzetto’s leadership, BAD 2025 promises a packed and inclusive program aimed at both professionals and the public. Events include:

  • Masterclasses by industry legends
  • Live performances with voice actors and illustrators
  • Panels and talks with screenwriters, storyboard artists, composers, and VR specialists
  • Creative workshops for children
  • Career talks and networking opportunities for students
  • Film screenings and artist showcases

This year also sees the launch of two new honors:

  • The BAD Award 2025
  • The BAD Animation Hero Award

These accolades will be awarded to internationally recognized figures in animation and feature a custom-designed dragon mascot by artist Corrado Colleoni, symbolizing the festival’s roots in Bergamo and its global vision.
