Milan, Italy – At Studio Bozzetto, we believe in the power of animation to tell important stories and raise awareness about social causes. That’s why we partnered with Ændo Associazione Italiana Dolore Pelvico ed Endometriosi ODV, to create “Endometriosis: Awareness is the First Step to Care” (Endometriosi. La cura inizia dalla consapevolezza) —an educational animated short film that explains the condition in a simple, scientific, and accessible way.
The short film is designed as a free educational tool, available to everyone. It has been used as part of national awareness campaigns and screened in schools to help educate young people about endometriosis, a disease that affects 1 in 10 women of reproductive age. The film highlights the importance of early diagnosis, as the average delay from symptoms to diagnosis still stands at around 8 years, often leading to serious complications, including infertility.
As part of its awareness campaign, The Cinemino in Milan was the first movie theater to screen the short film before every scheduled film throughout March, the month dedicated to endometriosis awareness.
The film also premiered at Lucca Comics & Games 2024 on November 1st during the event “Abortion, Endometriosis, Obstetric Violence: The Invisible Suffering.”
We are proud to have contributed to this meaningful project, supporting education and prevention through animation.
